How to make tourism films more personal?


Fjord Tours is the company behind "Norway In a Nutshell" and "Sognefjorden in a Nutshell", among others, and sells package tours to tourists who want an easy way to experience the best Norway has to offer.

Challenge:
Fjord Tours already had a lot of nice clips of Norwegian nature, and the campaigns had very good results on Meta and Google.
They wanted to make their films even more personal, so that you got the feeling that you were actually on the tour, and not just saw nice drone clips from the tours. The two main tours "Sognefjorden in a Nutshell" and "Norway in a Nutshell" are a bit challenging to distinguish from each other as they contain some similar elements.

Solution:
The solution was to hire two models to follow a "Norway in a Nutshell" and a "Sognefjord in a Nutshell" trip, and get really close to their experience and joy, combined with nice drone clips. We also needed a common thread in the films that explained and described what is not naturally captured on camera. Since the films were shot so personally, we also wanted the "travelogue" to be read in a personal and conversational way.


The result:
The result was two films that are both used on Meta and YouTube, drawing even more traffic and views than the previous films.
