Passion for the sea - How to reach different audiences with the same call to action?

Passion for the Sea is a commercial series about interesting people living along the coast of Western Norway. The series is produced in collaboration with Fjord Norway, and we have made several different films tailored to pre-determined target groups, with the main goal of inspiring people to visit the coast of Western Norway.

Jake Crumbleholme has moved from the big city in England to the small surfing town of Stadt in the name of love, and now works as a surf instructor.

Ronny Ødegaard Kolvik had worked for many years with great success at a top restaurant in Oslo. Now he has moved home to Ålesund to build "Matbyen Ålesund".

Jan Thomas Rantaniitty works by day as Tech CMO in an American company. In his spare time, he runs a community-oriented eco-lodge on Karmøy.

Rutt-Lovise Strand runs a small yoga studio in Måløy, and is passionate about getting people to experience how important the interaction with the coast is for body, mind and well-being.

Kari Schibevaag is an 8-time world champion in kiting, and has traveled the world. She now runs a water sports center in Jæren, which according to Kari is one of the world's finest beaches.

Line Nicolaysen, who currently lives in Oslo, bought an old boathouse far out in the sea on Smøla, and loves to showcase the rich coastal history we have in Norway.

Challenge:
As part of its summer campaigns, Fjord Norway wanted to showcase a number of coastal gems along the west coast of Norway in an engaging and inspiring way. Some that differed from typical drone films with music overlaid on top. They also had six different target groups they wanted to reach with the advertising series.

Solution:
It was obvious that we needed great stories as a backdrop for the commercials. To reach the right part of the target audience, we found interesting people who fit the target audience based on age, interests and location. We timed the weather as well as possible to bring out idyllic ambient clips from the areas.


Theresult:
The films have been promoted internationally and nationally, and in addition to trailers and main films, various social media versions and compilation films were also produced. Most versions have a viewing rate of up to 65%, and have contributed to a major increase in brand awareness for Fjord Norway.
