I want spectacular aerial footage, but who should I contact?
It is difficult to know who is actually delivering:Getting good footage isn't just about getting the drone in the air. Who really knows what they're doing?
Who has actually flown in harsh conditions?
Do they understand what clips I'm looking for, and can they adapt to input from my director? Who can actually deliver when it comes down to it?
The wrong vendor can cost you more than just money:
On a busy production day, every minute counts. The last thing you need is technical difficulties, waiting for equipment, or a lack of understanding of the creative vision.
Without this, you can quickly end up with clips that don't turn out as intended, or in the worst case, nothing at all. And you have to explain yourself to a client who wonders why the film didn't turn out as well as the pitch promised.
We go the extra mile for the perfect shots:
We have flown from boats in heavy seas, in gale-force winds and snow on winter mountains, over busy city centers and near airports – to calm mornings in the fjords. We know the regulations, have extended certification for demanding assignments, apply for permits when needed, and always provide backup equipment.
Do you need someone who knows what they are doing – both technically and creatively? Let's talk. We are based in Bergen, but take on assignments across all of Norway.

What do we bring with us to the assignments?
Get all the details on your own screen
While recording, you can follow the images in real time on your own monitor. This gives you full control to adjust the view and camera movements along the way. (And it's really fun to watch! 😀)
We usually provide a bright 7-inch screen, but can rig larger screens or send the signal wirelessly directly to the video village if needed.
Follow live from the other side of the world
If you are unable to attend in person, we can provide equipment to broadcast directly to a private YouTube livestream so you or your team can follow along.
You can also have telephone contact with one of our pilots to provide input or feedback along the way.
The live broadcast assumes that we have 4G/5G coverage in the area we operate in. This works in most places, but some very remote areas may lack coverage.
We can also stream to other platforms such as Teams, Zoom, Skype, etc.
What drones do we fly?
In most cases we fly the DJI Inspire 3. This is a phenomenal drone that gives us the ability to control the drone itself, camera gimbal and focus individually. This creates incredibly good dynamics in the film and allows us to perform complex tracking shoots of cars or vessels, or people at high speed with obstacles around.
You can also choose to record in 8K full format RAW 75fps, and that way have clips that quickly maintain technical quality for well over 10 years.
For slightly simpler missions, or a lower budget, we can fly the Inspire 3 with one operator or the DJI Mavic 4 Pro , which provides beautiful images (6K, 50fps 10bit), but is a little more limited on the most advanced maneuvers.
Can we attach other things to the drone?
Do you need to light a scene from above, or film 360 video in the middle of the mountains?
With the DJI Inspire 3 we cover most creative needs, and for the really heavy lifting we can rent the Matrice 350 power gimbal (max 4 kg payload).
Tell us what you need to get into the air – whether it's Insta360 X5, floodlights or specialty optics like LiDAR – and we'll find a safe and effective solution.
We have had the pleasure of working with many great companies
.
Since no two assignments are exactly the same, we usually tailor our prices to your needs. However, to give you an idea of the costs, we have listed our indicative rates below.
The choice of equipment and number of operators depends on what you are filming. For simple overview shots (typically establishing shots) in calm conditions, a Mavic 4 Pro or DJI Inspire 3 with one pilot is often sufficient.
For more advanced movements, high speed or complex scenes, we use the DJI Inspire 3 with two operators: one flying and one controlling the camera. If the shot requires precise focus control or large distance changes close to the subject, we also recommend a separate focus puller (1st AC). Do you have your own DoP or B-photo on set? We are happy to connect them to our system to save crew costs. To control the camera itself, the photographer should have some experience with gimbal/drones, but to pull focus (1st AC) no drone knowledge is needed – the hand controller works as you are already used to.
If the mission requires flying in city centers, near crowds, or in other restricted zones, an additional fee will be charged for extended planning and necessary safety measures (e.g. parachute and application processing).
In addition to the rental of crew and equipment, there are travel costs and any planning of special permits. The daily rates are for a full day (8 hours) or half day (4 hours), and transportation time is included in the hours.
For larger productions, productions that last longer than 8 hours, over several days or involve long journeys, we are happy to put together a package price.
All prices exclude VAT.

The steps in a delivery
Tell us a little about your project and what you want to achieve. We are happy to give you tips on locations and logistics during the meeting – whether you choose us or not. If we are a good match for your project, we will send you a concrete offer and a plan.
Have a non-binding chat
We come prepared and work our way through the shot list efficiently. But we don't settle for that – we're always looking for the unique angles that arise there and then. Those are often the best shots.
Recording (and a little magic)
That's what we're working towards. We transfer the raw material lightning fast (preferably on-site), so you don't have to wait. Then all you have to do is sit back, watch your vision come to life on screen, and use the clips where they belong.
Enjoy the result
This is what our customers often wonder:
-
Pricing depends on equipment package and crew. A simple job with one pilot starts at a lower level than a full production with Inspire 3, camera operator and focus drone. See our detailed pricing list further up the page for daily rates and packages.
-
Yes, absolutely! Although we are based in Bergen, we regularly carry out assignments in Oslo, Stavanger, Trondheim and the rest of the country. We are used to being on the move, and for out-of-town assignments we can often be there the next morning. Travel costs are always agreed in advance.
-
Yes, at some airports we can even fly right next to the runway. However, this requires more planning because flight time is often very limited and we have to communicate with the control tower to find available seats between airline flights.
-
No, Norway has some rules about national parks and restricted zones, but it is possible to get permission in some cases. We have permits to fly in city centers and over densely populated areas. We also have a license to fly in Oslo's No-Fly Zone. National parks and protected areas are often the most challenging to access. This often requires planning well in advance.
-
It is not possible to fly over large crowds (such as concerts, etc., unless they are part of the production). We have previously solved this by flying close to the crowd and using zoom lenses.
-
The drone is very robust, but heavy rain, snow and winds over 15 m/s are not possible.
-
Yes, it is possible, especially with the Inspire 3 drone, which has excellent low-light capabilities.
-
No problem! Some of the most spectacular shots we have captured are over water or rivers.
-
Yes, it is absolutely possible. We bring good safety equipment for take-off and landing if we have to take the drone on. If you have a larger deck, it is mostly very unproblematic, especially if the boat can slow down during take-off and landing.
-
The maximum height of the drone is 120 meters above the ground, as set by the Civil Aviation Authority of Norway. If you fly along a mountain or building, you can fly higher, as long as there is a maximum of 120 meters below the drone.
-
We can fly the drone up to 1,000 meters from where the pilot is located, and 4,000 meters if we submit a NOTAM in advance (costs about 1,500 NOK). If you are on board a boat or car, the distance is measured from where the pilot is located at the current time. -
If you only hire us to operate the drone, we can deliver the raw footage the same day. We can also transfer footage via Dropbox if there is no time to transfer after the shoot.
-
We typically use a DJI Inspire 3, with a Mavic 4 Pro as a simpler and more portable option.
We can deliver everything from 8.1K ProRes RAW 75fps down to 4K H265 10-bit.
For still images, we can deliver 44.7-megapixel RAW DNG files.
We can convert to a variety of different codecs and wrappers if you need something specific.
-
We have DJI 18mm f/2.8, 24mm f/2.8, 35mm f/2.8, 50mm f/2.8, 75mm f/1.8, 90mm f/3.5 available.
-
After 10 years in the air, we have a huge archive of high-quality drone footage from all over Norway – from fjords and mountains to city life. Get in touch and tell us what you want, and we'll take a look at our archive.
-
Absolutely. We have full liability insurance according to the Aviation Act. This means that you as a customer can feel completely safe on the set. We put safety first and never fly if the risk is too high.
-
We always provide backup equipment as long as it is practical. On important productions we bring extra drones and controllers so that we can continue filming even if the primary drone experiences technical problems. The recording does not stop because of the equipment
Do you need a clip or image we already have?
We have been flying drones around Norway for over a decade. It is quite possible that we have clips lying around that meet your needs. Send us a description of what you need (mood, location or subject), and we will dive into the archive and see what we have.
Greetings from Lars
The best thing about this job is the feeling of standing together in the field and creating something unique as a team. For me, drone flying is more than just a job – it’s a passion, especially when nature offers a little resistance.
Few things beat the feeling of jumping ashore on a rocky islet to capture boats in heavy seas, or chasing the final seconds of a sunset. It makes the heart beat a little faster when we manage to time the movement in the air, the light, and the subject into one perfect shot. These are the moments where the magic happens.
At the same time, the most important thing for me is that you as a customer feel well taken care of and understood all the way. We should have fun at work, but the goal is always crystal clear: I won't give up until we have created something we are both proud of, and you are 100% satisfied with the result.
Lars Korvald, Owner Storywell
